La Cañita is a well-established Latin restaurant brand with multiple locations throughout South Florida. When ownership acquired a prominent venue in South Beach, their vision extended far beyond creating another restaurant. The goal was to transform the space into a vibrant hospitality destination capable of delivering exceptional dining experiences, live entertainment, private events, and nightlife, all supported by a seamless technology infrastructure.

To achieve that vision, the entire venue underwent a complete renovation. ProAV.Miami was selected to design, engineer, install, program, and support the technology systems that would become the backbone of the new operation.

Today, La Cañita South Beach operates as much more than a restaurant. It hosts nightly live music performances, private events, special celebrations, and high-energy social gatherings, all while maintaining an effortless experience for management, staff, and guests.

Professional Audio System

Audio quality was one of the most important aspects of the project.

The system was designed to deliver exceptional sound for background music, special events, and nightly live performances while maintaining consistent coverage throughout the venue.

The installation includes a combination of premium JBL professional loudspeakers, ceiling speakers, high-output event speakers, and multiple dedicated subwoofers strategically positioned throughout the space. The audio system incorporates eight subwoofer drivers distributed throughout the venue, providing the low-frequency impact required for live music and energetic nightlife without sacrificing musical clarity.

Because the venue is located just steps from the ocean, environmental conditions were a major consideration during the design phase. Exposure to salt air, humidity, and the demanding South Florida coastal environment can significantly reduce the lifespan of improperly selected equipment. To address this challenge, we carefully specified loudspeakers rated for outdoor and harsh-environment applications, incorporating weather-resistant materials and finishes designed to withstand long-term exposure. This approach helps minimize maintenance requirements, reduce replacement costs, and maximize the long-term value of the investment for ownership.

At the core of the system is a professional BSS digital signal processor (DSP) responsible for loudspeaker optimization, system tuning, equalization, crossover management, dynamics processing, and overall performance control. This processing allows the system to maintain exceptional sound quality while adapting to different operating modes throughout the day.

Multiple Crown professional amplifiers power the system, providing substantial headroom and ensuring reliable operation even during demanding live performances.

One of the key objectives was to eliminate the need for a dedicated audio technician during daily operation. Through thoughtful system design, DSP optimization, and intuitive controls, staff can easily transition between background music, live entertainment, and special event modes with minimal intervention while preserving consistent audio quality.

Intelligent Lighting Control

The venue's atmosphere is heavily influenced by its lighting design.

To support the architectural vision of the space, ProAV.Miami implemented a sophisticated Lutron lighting control system managing more than 50 independent lighting zones throughout the venue.

The system includes:

Behind the scenes, the system integrates multiple lighting control technologies and communication protocols into a single, unified user experience. The installation includes sixteen intelligent moving-head fixtures integrated into the overall entertainment experience.

Enterprise Network Infrastructure

Reliable connectivity is essential for modern hospitality operations.

ProAV.Miami designed and installed a comprehensive network infrastructure supporting every aspect of the venue's daily operation, including:

As part of the complete renovation of La Cañita South Beach, ProAV.Miami performed the electrical work necessary to support the venue's new operational requirements. Our team installed new conduit pathways, upgraded electrical distribution, provided dedicated circuits for technology systems, and deployed the power infrastructure required to support the lighting, entertainment, networking, and audiovisual systems throughout the property.

A key element of the project was the architectural lighting design, developed in collaboration with one of our trusted lighting design partners. Together, we helped create an environment that balances elegance, warmth, and energy, allowing the venue to transition naturally from daytime dining to evening entertainment.

More than 100 premium decorative light fixtures were carefully selected and installed throughout the property. Each fixture was chosen not only for its visual appeal but also for its quality, performance, and contribution to the overall guest experience.
